Now is the only time. Pema Chodron
Throughout my career as a Nurse Practitioner, I repeatedly witnessed the personal devastation that occurs when a person faces a medical catastrophe. I learned to respect the fragility of life, to know that it takes no more than a few seconds for one’s life to change forever and irrevocably.
Our tendency as humans is to believe that there will always be enough time to figure things out, to have that important conversation, or to decide what we really want to do with our lives. We procrastinate in making the life changes that would allow us to live a healthier, happier, more meaningful existence. My profession has given me many reminders that there is no guarantee that we will get this time. I’ve learned the importance of living a life of meaning every day.
While my career has evolved through the years, I have always been committed to practicing and advocating for a holistic approach to health care. I believe that optimal health requires engaging the body, mind and spirit and that all three aspects are involved in both health maintenance and disease prevention and treatment. It is my belief that people benefit tremendously by having a coach to guide and support them as they go about the work of creating healthy and meaningful lives, even in the face of personal crisis.
My mission as a coach is to empower my clients to find the inner strength they need to grow, maintain health and achieve a sense of well-being and fulfillment as they live into their dreams -- starting right here, right now, in this moment.
